As much as I love art and designing, I don't think I fit for being a graphic designer. Not to discourage anybody, but I don't see myself composing work for the rest of my life. I realize that most of the work I do in class involves hand-drawn illustration incorporated into a computer generated medium. I am highly recommending illustration as my field and looking forward to all the possibilities it has to offer. It was a pleasure to be in the CG class and I hope that everybody prosper in the years to come.

More Live Painting/ Benefit Concert
About 3 weeks ago my Friend Malissa asked me if I wanted to be involved in her benefit concert and I agreed (without realizing how much work she wanted to do). I thought it would be a great opportunity to expose my work and even launch my clothing line.

Before the show, she wanted me to paint two of the artists performing that night, so I went on MySpace to look for these underground hip-hop artist and end up with these low quality picture:

Since the day she asked me to do the show and till the day of the show, I finished the painting through finals week and here are the results:

I also made a few buttons/pins for merchandises but my t-shirt didn't go through. I realized I should have consider the legalities of starting a business before making the designs.

The event was a huge turn-out, the restaurant was packed, sold some paintings (most of the profit went towards the benefit), and I got lots of reference/business card from "clients".
I don't have any pictures of me painting at the show; I'm still waiting till my friend send me them.
I'm extremely burnt out, and I'm ready to hit the sack.

Painting in Watts
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v18/silverchylde/Random/Production_Watts.jpg)
(Jnkoe and me)
Two weeks ago my friend John Estrada called me to help out with a commission mural in Watts. We started the mural early morning and ended mid afternoon. The wall was getting too hot due to the heat and the acrylic paint was drying too fast so weren't able to blend the paint properly. We dropped the paint brush and begin doing some "aerosol art" at the other end. We covered all the vandalism with our pieces and the neighborhood really appreciated our work.

Live Painting
My friend Josh called me last minute to do a live painting at a Church event because his friend Cowboy [BYM] bailed out on him. During the time he called me, I was at a barbecue in Fullerton, so I rushed home, packed up my equipment, made some stencils and found my way to the event. I arrived there about 30 minutes late, I felt a bit rushed, nervous, and frustrated. I've painted live with spray cans in front of a large crowd, but I've never been put on-the-spot as the center of attention while a band is playing. After a while I begin to lose myself within the painting and forget everybody around me as I start to become comfortable. At first, I didn't really know what I wanted to depicted, the more I added color to the canvas, the more the pictures started to unravel itself. I spent about 2 hours on the painting, added some final touches with the stencils and then I was done. It was a good experience, and would love to do it again.

Here's a tattoo flash I did for my friend:

(She got it on her shoulder by the way).
This past weekend I've been searching for tattoo examples for the next class meeting and I'm looking forward to drawing on Billy. Haha.

"Vokee - Angels" Music Video
Early August of last year, I went down to Venice beach to do a graffiti production with my friend Kure. While we were there, two Armenian guys approached us, one guy was holding a professional video camcorder the other guy was shirtless with a tattoo on his arm and across his stomach. At first I was a bit intimidated, and it turned out they were cool guy. The short thug-looking guy was Ontronik "Andy" Khachaturian ex-drummer of System of a Down and he asked me if they can shoot me doing graffiti for their new music video. So they took a few clips of me as I proceeded with my painting. I was very fortunate to be in their video; you could see me painting about 18 sec. & 1 min. and 32 sec. (they drew an angel armor around me) within the video:
I was half done when they took a picture of my piece.

"Bob Dylan - When The Deal Goes Down" Music Video
Bob Dylan's Modern Times was probably one of the best albums I herd last year. I went on You Tube to see if there were any recent videos by Dylan and came across this. It was interesting how the director uses an obsolescent technology to give the video a classy vintage outlook on history. The static and the unstableness of the video also contributed to it's poor production. Scarlett Johansson, in my opinion fit the role very well, as she express her positive attitude of the activities of a country girl.
Director Bennett Miller really captures the lifestyle of civilization of the 50's using footages shot with a Super 8mm video camcorder. About a year and a half ago, I became infatuated with super 8 film after watching Belle & Sebastian's DVD "Fans Only" which was a collection of home-made music video cleverly made by the band themselves using the same technique that Bennett Miller used to incorporate with the style of music they played. Sonic Youth's guitarist Lee Ranaldo did a live project with photographer/visual artist Leah Singer whom displayed random footages using two 16mm films while tweaking/manipulating the film as Lee Ranaldo implemented the instrumentals. With these ideas in mind and without any knowledge of 8mm/16mm film I wanted to start a project of my own. I purchased an 8mm camcorder and a projector through EBay then soon realize that it was difficult to get a hold of 8mm film, the film was expensive, the film only holds 3 minutes of footage, and that it also has to be processed at various locations. Due to the situation, the project soon became a failure. Hopefully in the future, when my budget is sufficient I can continue my 8mm project.
